BECOMING THE BEST YOU
Psychiatrist for Young Adults
You’re starting your adult life. You may have your first job, new marriage, your first apartment, or you may now be living in new city away from home.
What Young Adults Need
Being an adult and setting yourself up for a happy and successful life is all about the choices you make in your 20’s and 30’s. Having a safe haven and therapist to give you insights to healthy choices, why you are not making the right ones, and how it’s impacting you is helpful to getting on a positive path.
Challenges Young Adults Face
Transitioning to the work place and/or graduate school, managing the changes in prior relationships or discovering new relationships at work and establishing new intimate relationships, managing finances, setting boundaries and limits with family and work while simultaneously transforming yourself as you make one of the most challenging transitions to independence. These many adjustments can contribute to anxiety, temporary or longer term changes in mood, social uneasiness, and excessive substance use.
My Approach as your Psychiatrist
Treatment options are varied and entirely collaborative. I do not conform to a rigid model and I am your consultant to your treatment as we work to define your goals, explore avenues to target your goals. I may be a consultant to your current therapist or your primary psychotherapist guiding options as life style changes, homeopathy, and traditional pharmacology.
Treatment may be short term (less than 6 months) or longer term, weekly or more intermittent based on your needs and goals.
